Hero of the Week!

Have you ever wondered what missionaries do in Lesotho and lots of other places around the world? It may surprise you. This week we want to introduce you to "Mr. Ron," our hero of the week.
A few weeks ago we noticed a gurgling sound in an adjacent washroom whenever we flushed the toilet. Upon further inspection, we found water coming up the drain in both a bathroom sink and the bathtub. Something was afoul.
Ron, our go-to guy when anything needs fixin' at our house, came over to assess the situation. Ron primarily does maintenance for MAF out at their hanger. He previously served a number of years with MAF in Ecuador. He is old enough to retire, but he has continued on in Lesotho as a short-termer (two year stints at a time). There are not enough Rons here, and he is a very busy guy!
Ron did a little digging in our backyard and discovered that a root from our willow tree had crushed our sewer line. After digging and digging, he found that at least four roots, about eight inches in diameter, were clogging the lines in a few different places. Ron had to dig out the roots, clear out raw sewage (gag!), and then replace part of the pipe. As Ron said, "This is a job you couldn't pay me to do. But here I am doing it for free!" The work was hard, the weather was hot; yet Ron persevered with a positive attitude. He's an amazing example of commitment to the call. Thanks, Ron, for all you've done and continue to do serving Christ here in Lesotho.
